Say Hello to Sam
More about Sam
Growing up in North Wales, I have spent a significant amount of time hiking and climbing in the mountains, which is where you’ll find me if not at a wedding taking photos!
My journey with photography started as a teenager hiking up my first mountain in Eryri/Snowdonia. I was overwhelmed by the landscape’s beauty and I’ve always had a camera in hand since.
I now live in the stunning city of Chester and shoot weddings right across the United Kingdom.
I like to say that a great image should feel like a memory, not a performance.
My documentary wedding photography page explains more about my unique and truthful approach to photographing a wedding.
For me, a wedding is one of the most magical and happy days of your life, and that’s exactly how you should remember it when you look at your photos, whether that’s 6 months later or 6 decades later. They should be timeless.
My goal is for you to re-live your day through the eyes of your guests; to feel that same spectrum of emotion every time you look at your photographs.
To that end, I have a very relaxed yet sociable nature; meaning I’m able to immerse myself in the events of the day without you and your guests even noticing I’m there.
Now you’ve read about me, let’s think a little about you!
If you’ve got this far, you've read about me and hopefully my thoughts on documentary wedding photography. Perhaps you’ve also browsed my wedding stories.
So you should have a good idea about my unique style of wedding photography now.
You will hopefully see that my approach to photographing weddings is distinct from the numerous other traditional wedding photographers out there.
You will also be feeling a connection to my documentary photography style, wanting your wedding photos to be candid, filled with real emotion and timeless.
How do you want to experience and remember one of the most important and special days of your life?
If you’d prefer to spend it making memories with your family and friends, and not being taken away for hours of endless posed photos, then it sounds like a documentary style for your wedding photography would be perfect for you: natural, emotive and heartfelt images that tell the true story of your wedding day.
And I would be honoured to be your photographer!
