I recently photographed the joyous and stunning Wedding of Zoë and Dan.

Located in the picturesque landscape of Eryri/Snowdonia, Zoë and Dan got married at Llyn Gwynant Barns where Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon sits behind it.

It was a truly wonderful day filled with happiness and laughter.

Eryri/Snowdonia is my favourite place. Not only did I grow up in North Wales, I have spent so much of my life in the mountains, so it was a pleasure to photograph Zoë and Dan’s wedding in a place I know so well.

In true North Wales fashion, the unpredictable weather made itself known the day before, much to the disappointment of the nearly-weds. However, in all honesty, nothing could have ruined Zoë and Dan’s special day because the happiness and love felt by them, their family and friends overpowered any droplets of rain. Even the sun desperately tried to join in the fun, making a few appearances through the dark clouds!

Llyn Gwynant Barns are situated on the shores of a lake in the foothills of Eryri/Snowdonia. In a mountain landscape steeped in myth and magic, the imposing Grade II-listed stone buildings are surrounded by private terraces and beautiful fields which run down to the lake shore.

Following an afternoon of drinks, food and brilliant speeches (and I must take my hat off to the groom, who made it clear he was not a public speaker, but still managed to make everyone laugh several times), the Bride and Groom had their first dance whilst the Father of the Bride and the bridesmaid performed their song. It was one of those poignant moments that you might think only happens in films. A particularly favourite moment of mine was when the Bride was invited on stage to sing with her Dad whilst he played the guitar next to her.

I was also very impressed to watch the Bride launch her bouquet almost over the wall of the venue.
